5. Filming at major meetings
Filming at major meetings will be mostly of Group One and selected categories chosen by Madman.
If you would like to make sure your car or bike is filmed at a major meet then you will need to contact Madman prior to a meeting
Requested personal footage due to the unavailability of media access.
Footage is filmed only from the eastern corner pending access.
The reason for the unavailability of media access at WSID during major meets is due to the contractual rights AVE (makers of speed week on SBS and speed machine on Channel 9) have with WSID. AVE hold the rights to all start line video footage and if WSID were to allow Madman to film as media then they will be breaking their contract with AVE.
Hope that clears that up for a few people out there always asking the question.
WSID MANAGEMENT ARE AWARE OF MADMAN FILMING FROM THE STANDS AND SELLING FOOTAGE TO RACERS FROM BIG MEETS. SOME OTHER VIDEO OUTLETS ARE NOT RECOGNISED BY WSID AND SHOULD BE USED WITH CAUTION IS REGARDS TO THEIR AUTHENTICITY OF BEING ABLE TO SELL AUTHORIZED FOOTAGE FROM WSID.
